Arriving home with your newborn baby is both the best and scariest feeling in the world. If you’re anything like me, you are doing all of the research so you can feel prepared about the recovery process while caring for a new baby.
These postpartum must haves for mom are products that I used and allowed me to have a smooth and quick recovery. I want the same for you! You are going to learn about the best postpartum products which includes a peri bottle, tucks pads, padsicles, and more.

11 Best Postpartum Must Haves for Mom:
1. Postpartum Underwear
One of the first postpartum must haves for mom are these Postpartum Underwear. They are so comfortable and have a slight compression which helps everything stay in place and provide some tummy control.
Now, you can also wear them beyond postpartum recovery because they are that comfortable! I certainly still wear them! They make the perfect period underwear because they are full coverage and perfectly snug.
2. Peri Bottle
Another postpartum must have that I could not live without is the Frida Mom Peri Bottle. If you are delivering in the hospital, they will give you one BUT it does not have the angled design. The angled design is important so you can target the area you are drying to clean.
Peri bottles like this not only have the angled feature, but it is also meant to be held upside down and has a continuous stream of water. The continuous stream makes it so you can target the area you are trying to clean without interruption.
3. Tucks Pads
Next up are Tucks Pads. They are one of the best postpartum products you’ll find that provides relief. You should be provided with some if delivering at a hospital. I was given so many that I did not need to purchase my own. (I did pay for this in my hospital bill, so you might want to purchase them to get them for WAY cheaper).
Hemorrhoids can be both painful and itchy, so you’ll want to make sure that you have something that can provide quick relief. You can use multiple Tucks Pads to cover more area.
4. Padsicles
Padsicles are super easy to make, and only take three things, Maxi Pads, Aloe Vera, and Witch Hazel. Once you have all three items, just open the Maxi Pad and apply the Aloe and Witch Hazel and throw in the freezer until they are ready use.

DIY padsicles are great because they act as an ice pack, reduce swelling, and soothe the area from hemorrhoids and vaginal stiches. You are going to want to prepare this a few weeks before delivery so you are fully prepared when you are in recovery.
5. Postpartum Leggings
These are the BEST Leggings, especially during postpartum. You can wear them before you’re pregnant, throughout your entire pregnancy, and then postpartum. That is why they make the perfect motherhood leggings. Trust me, you’ll want to have the comfiest pants for a few months! Comfy pants are on the top of the postpartum must haves for mom list.
Leggings have a smooth and breathable material and they will stretch with your belly throughout pregnancy. I have a size medium (in multiple colors) and I gained 70lbs during my pregnancy and wore them nearly every day, and still do one year postpartum!
6. Postpartum Pads
Pads are definitely a postpartum must have for mom. These Maxi Pads are the ones I used during recovery. They are also the same ones I used to create the padsicles with. You’ll want to either wear a diaper, or a use thicker pad in the beginning of your healing journey postpartum.
They are both 100% leak proof, have wings, and are great for wearing for long periods of time. You are going to want a longer pad to cover the most area and these are it! When you are ready to transition to a thinner pad, I recommend it because pads can be so uncomfortable, especially during those early postpartum stages.
7. Postpartum Pajamas
Pajamas are one of the top postpartum must haves for mom! If you are going to get any hospital outfit, let it be these Postpartum Pajamas.
These pajamas are extremely comfortable and the waistband of the pants is adjustable, which is great because you’re body is going to change so much in a short period of time. If you plan on nursing, the top is breastfeeding friendly.
The material is soft and breathable, which makes them great for recovery while you’re still in the hospital, so you’ll want to pack them in your hospital bag. The best part, you’ll have comfy, breastfeeding friendly pajamas that you can wear at home.
8. Postpartum Diapers
If I were about to give birth again and only bought one thing, it would be these Postpartum Diapers, also known as disposable underwear. It is the ultimate postpartum must have for moms! You will practically live in these while you are still bleeding heavy!
They are super comfortable and fit snug and will not fall down. You can wear these confidently knowing that everything will stay in one place and the best part, you don’t have to worry about ruining your nice underwear.
If you are delivering in a hospital, they will give you disposable underwear that does not act as a diaper. You have to place a pad in them. I saved the postpartum diapers for when I was home, but you could definitely pack them in your hospital bag.
9. Postpartum Ice Pack Pads
These singular use Postpartum Ice Pack Pads are definitely one of the postpartum must haves for mom. I only used these in the hospital, and they provided so much relief!
You are going to want to have these postpartum ice packs pads, especially for the first few days because that is when you are going to feel the most pain and discomfort.
They provide so much coverage, so you can feel confident that it will provide relief in all of the right places. Ice pack pads are super easy to activate and they hold and absorb liquid, making them extremely convenient.
10. Dermoplast Spray
Dermoplast Spray is literally life-changing while you are in recovery postpartum. It practically numbs everything so you can get some relief while also trying to get some rest.
You should receive some while you are in the hospital, but I used mine so much that I had some ready to use at home. When applying it, it will be a tingly sensation. It might burn at first, especially in that first day, but once it starts working, you feel nothing.
Using this spray as a part of my healing process allowed me to give more attention to my baby because I was able to temporarily eliminate the pain and discomfort with one simple spray.
11. Cooling Pad Liners
Towards the end of the bleeding, or once you have stopped bleeding, you will want these Cooling Pad Liners. They are similar to the Tucks Pads, but they are a full length liner that you can place on a thin pad or panty liner. I used the Tucks Pads for hemorrhoids and the cooling pad liners when I was done heavily bleeding.
After you stop bleeding, you may feel some discomfort and pain still from your stitches, but you will no longer need a large pad or diaper. This is where the cooling pad liner comes in. It is thin, but has healing properties and provides relief. You can place it in your underwear with a Thin Pad or panty liner.
